In case you didn’t know, Tim Tebow will be in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Florida even before he officially gets drafted to the NFL.

Confused? Don’t be. It’s just about this little 30-second TV spot for Tim Tebow during the CBS broadcast of the Super Bowl. And since Florida will host the Super Bowl this year, you shouldn’t be surprised to see only one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever come from Florida in the state’s take on the NFL’s annual extravaganza.

The 30-second TV ad will feature the former Florida Gators quarterback and his mother Pam. Tebow and his mother will share one of their many personal family - affirming stories, one of which could be her decision to carry him to term despite a life-threatening pregnancy in the Philippines where she and her husband Bob were serving as Christian missionaries.

You read it, doctors advised Pam to have an abortion or risk a life-threatening pregnancy. Pam chose the latter and nine months later, she gave birth to Tim Tebow who later became a Heisman Trophy winner, a BCS national champion and one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play college football.

The TV ad is produced by the Colorado Springs - based ministry, Focus on the Family.

Focus spokesman Gary Schneeberger said Tebow agreed to appear in the ad because the issue of life is one he and his family feel so strongly about. Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, is known for being home - schooled…

A 3000-member megachurch in Los Angeles is in the running to have their ad, entitled “Casket”, featured during this year’s Super Bowl. It is one of six finalists in Doritos’ “Crash the Super Bowl” challenge and if it receives the most votes will be exposed to one of the largest TV audiences ever.

“Casket”, which was created by members of the church’s congregation, is a light-hearted spoof playing off the resurrection of Jesus Christ and was created by members of the Mosaic church.

“We’re not trying to use Doritos to propagate a message, but I think we want people to know that we have a sense of humor, that it’s OK to laugh,” Mosaic’s lead pastor Erwin McManus said. “So much of what comes out of the faith community seems so dour and somber and we want to say, ‘Hey, we’re real people. You can be a person of faith and really enjoy life and laugh.”

The 30-second ad has received so many votes that it became one of the top six ads in the Doritos contest. If it lands in the top spot, it will be featured during the Super Bowl in front of more than 100 million viewers. Coming in any of the top three positions will earn the creators $400,000, $600,000 or $1 million.

Super Bowl 2010 ad spots, although dropping in price from last year, still cost between $2.5 million and $2.8 million per 30-second unit. The creators of the ad will not know if they have won the $1 million top prize until the day of the Super Bowl, on February 7th.

UFC 109 on Saturday, February 6 has 11 bouts on the card including the headliner that includes Randy Couture and Mark Coleman. There are five fights on the pay-per-view portion of the card and six preliminary bouts, two of which will be televised on Spike TV.

UFC 109 has a lot of big UFC odds favorites and that is somewhat unusual. Randy Couture is listed as -450 in UFC odds at SBG Global for his bout against Mark Coleman.
